Controalisei is the first single from Azzurra that anticipates the EP Origini, written and produced together with guitarist and producer Federico Ferrandina, released by the French label Another Music Records, selected by Music Board Berlin and distributed by Believe.
Controalisei are constant regular winds of high atmospheric regions that move in the opposite direction from trade winds.
As if wind were an agent of the inner atmosphere, a phenomenon that shakes emotional landscapes and soundscapes, Controalisei is a track that flows between mountains and clouds, with a deep, unsettling and irreversible trace.

UNDERLIGHT is the title of singer/songwriter AZZURRA debut album.

The album shines like a dream pop mirrorball punctuated with dark moments, occurring like lunar eclipses. Such vitality is flooded by electronic turbulences, where AZZURRA silken voice gets power from gentleness.
UNDERLIGHT is that moment when light comes from underneath, from hard times and dark moments, when we got shaken enough to create new ways to illuminate reality. Ten songs where AZZURRA displays her inner life through a delicate layer of melancholy, singing about uncertainty in a threatening but inspiring world.

Kidnapped is the second release from Azzurra’s debut album “Underlight”, composed and arranged with the guitarist and producer FEDERICO FERRANDINA, lyrics by CLEA SCALA, published by Paris based label ANOTHER MUSIC RECORDS.
“Stockholm syndrome: feelings of trust or affection felt in many cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim towards a captor.” But what if the hostage is a whole culture? Trapped in a car that runs as fast as the world, Azzurra suggests that maybe there’s no better way to make us watch what we’re really doing. We need to be kidnapped.

Sometimes the whole reality outline concentrates in one shape, sometimes we just need to tell one single story to grab some universal truth about humanity. Azzurra chooses the grey color to paint many shades of contemporary reality, and the existential need to migrate from it, as it’s a reality where we don’t belong anymore.
A B O U T
Singer/Songwriter combines delicate electronic and dark pop elements with her intimate voice into a unique and deep sound.
Inspired by essences and pure forms, AZZURRA began writing her own music in 2015. That same year, she moved from her hometown in the mountains of Basilicata to Berlin and released the single ›Before Your Lies‹ and her first EP, ›Where Are We Going‹. In 2019, with multiple Grammy Award winner Sadaharu Yagi and film composer Federico Ferrandina, she wrote the World Environment Day and SDG’s theme song ›We Are Walking On‹ for the United Nations. The connection between nature and reality also runs through AZZURRA’s most recent work. Through soul and electro-pop, AZZURRA negotiates a need for simplicity and a way of dealing with an increasingly alienated world. AZZURRA points to a reality and a planet that will no longer be an unconditional home whenever we need refuge.
